Everybody wanna know- What’s so special about Sigma Gamma Rho?
*March 20, 2004- The PM chapter is the 1st Historically Black Greek Lettered Organization in the National Pan Hellenic Council to be chartered on the campus of the Univ. of MO- Saint Louis.
*Since then the Pi Mu Chapter of SGR has participated in the following events:
àApril 16, 2004- Won 3rd place in Central Region’s Stroll Competition
àApril 24, 2004- Participated in the March of Dimes Walk America
àApril 26- 30, 2004- Held Operation BigBookBag Week at UMSL
àApril 28, 2004- Participated in UMSL’s Mirthday (Pin the Tail on the Poodle)
àMay 16, 2004- Participated in the Annie Malone May Day Parade
àJune 5, 2004- Helped with the Best Talent Center’s Dance Recital
àJune 12 & August 15, 2004- Participated at UMSL’s New Student Orientation
àJune 19, 2004- Participated at the Father & Children’s Village at Forest Park
àAugust 1, 2004- Stepped at AFA’s 22nd Annual Midwest Marchdown Stepshow at UMSL
àAugust 20, 2004- Won 1st place at the Black Student Alliance’s “Stepping into SLU” step competition
àAugust 28, 2004- Participated in the United Negro College Fund’s Walk-A-Thon
àSeptember 2, 2004- Held our first annual Game Night at UMSL
àSeptember 4, 2004- Volunteered at the food pantry for the Church of the Living God
àSeptember 23, 2004- Participated in Collegiate 100’s Rock the Vote Forum at Harris Stowe State College
àSeptember 25, 2004- Participated in the 11th Annual Gateway Classic Parade
àOctober 11- November 2, 2004- “Sigma Voting Campaign”= we passed out flyers at all college campuses around St. Louis to encourage the public to vote
àOctober 11-16, 2004- “World Food Day Food Drive”= in conjunction with Black Student Nurses Association and National Association of Black Accountants. We donated non-perishable food items to the Clayton Missionary Baptist Church Food Pantry
àOctober 29, 2004- Community Service at Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club
àOctober 30, 2004- Halloween Party at SLU
àNovember 2, 2004- Volunteered as poll monitors for the 2004 Presidential Campaign at Connect Care
à November 11, 2004- Open Mic Celebration for Founder’s Day at HSSC
àNovember 30, 2004- “Get to Know S.G.Rho” Informational at UMSL
àDecember 1-3, 2004- Collected new and slightly used toys for Q95.5’s ‘Toys in The Hood’ Toy Drive in conjunction with Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc, Helping Hands Organization, Black Student Nurses Association, and National Association of Black Accountants.
